I want to share with you the wonderful place I live in and encourage you to come and be part of this area to live or to play. Some history about Temecula, the name Temecula comes from the Luiseño Indian word “Temecunga” – “temet” meaning “sun” and “-ngna” which means “place of”. The Spanish interpreted and spelled the word as “Temecula”. Over the years, the meaning of “Temecula” has been translated into several different versions of this interpretation, including the most popular, which is “Where the sun breaks through the mist”.
What makes this area so special? Is it the fact that you are an hour from the beach or the snow? That we have award winning schools, a community that is family centered with parks and recreation in abundance, and horse and bike trails throughout the city limits. These things help make a great place to live but what makes the biggest difference is the people. I hope to introduce you to those people who make this place wonderful. Residents who make a difference, business owners who have invested in the economy, city events that bring us closer together and the southern California climate that adds to the “A” in amazing that is our town.
