Colors for Fall 2011
According to Bejamin Moore Paints, this years colors are based on Balance because colors affect our
moods and represents the surrounding world.
The color tends are Farm, Order, Escape and Tribe.
Farm represented by cow prints,rustic furniture and bright colors taken from fruits and vegaetables.
Order involves minimalistic geometrics patterns, bright stripes, polka dots and primary colors.
Escape is represented with translucent or soft retro colors and design which has a fantasy or fairy tale theme.
Tribes, getting back to core values, communities have become important again, represented by rich orange and
berry colors, spicy browns and bronze metallics.

Lighting for All Moods (Part 2)Different rooms have different functions and different lighting needs.
Living Rooms
Instead of one central light, create pools of light to spotlight furniture, shelves or art. Use table lamps, floor lamps or sconces for changing the mood of your space depending on the time of day.
Kitchens
Several functions take place in kitchens, general lighting from a ceiling fixture is necessary, fluorescent task lighting for preparation of food can be install by using under cabinet fixtures, and halogen lights in cabinets with glass inserts for displaying china and cook books.
Dining Rooms
Dining Rooms can use a decorative chandelier for visiual interest.Task lighting or talble lamps can be used on a sideboard or wall sconces around the room to provide light for eating and serving food. And don’t foget the candles.
